Dark Lord Neo
Wow

CartoonDevil
Well, maybe it was voted best series of all time, but that's only because StarCraft and/or the WarCraft series weren't included in that vote.

Yes, I realize that some morons differentiate between PC and "video" games, but that doesn't mean that StarCraft isn't a video game, just because it's not played on a console.

Besides, Wind Waker was dissappointing. I just finished playing Majora's Mask last week and re-realized how great that game is, and how easy/boring/repetitive Wind Waker is.

A Black Falcon
Well Starcraft isn't a series... yet... :)

Oh, and that list does include PC games. Note #2 on the list is Doom... I'd have chosen Warcraft/Starcraft as #1 though. Zelda would be 2nd.

Private Hudson
Weh..?

Right, because now Zelda is "officially" the best game (series) of all-time...?

And what does XBox and PS2 fanboys have to do with this? The series spans multiple generations..

It's on the N64..

A Black Falcon
It stunk on the N64. Just like Warcraft II and Diablo and Command & Conquer on N64 and PSX and C&C Red Alert on PSX.

Darunia
Wow...thats awesome. As happy as that makes me, and as much as I agree...who the hell are they to say what the best game is. I agree with their #1 and maybe even their #2 (DOOM ROCKS!) and all, and I'm pretty sure many of their other selections are deserving too, but...I dunno...Entertainment Weekly doesn't rank so highly on my list of educated videogamers.

A Black Falcon
OB1 hates Doom so he'll call them idiots...

Okay...let me get this straight, you are calling Majora Mask, a game where you must play within the same three days, doing many things over again, less boring and repetitive than Wind Waker? I think perhaps you were confused about your game titles on that one.

CartoonDevil
OB1 calls everyone idiots.

I think you kind of missed the point of my post. I didn't mix up anything. Wind Waker really is that bad. Majora's Mask is LESS repetetive.

EdenMaster
I see.

Explain why you believe Wind Waker is so repetitive? Admittedly, I have yet to finish it, but I've found most of the Triforce and beaten the Earth Temple and thus far the game has not proven itself to be at all repetitive.

Sacred Jellybean
Yeah... I wouldn't call it any more repetitive than the past Zelda games... of course, if you're strictly comparing it to Majora's Mask, then I wouldn't know, as I've never played MM.

big guy
there's a lot of sailing...

a...lot...of...sailing...

it gets repetative.

and i'd agree with cartoon devil that Majoras Mask is plenty better than Wind Waker.

OB1
I'd like to make a list of the Top 100 dumbest people in the world. Cartoon Devil would get the #1 spot.

EdenMaster
I must ask you two, CartoonDevil and big guy, did either of you learn the Ballad of Gales? It makes travelling much, much faster.

big guy
of course i learned the ballad of gales. as soon as i got the bow i hunted down a cyclone because i was so sick of sailing... but even that wasn't perfect. it'd get you close to the island you were trying to reach, but you'd still have to sail across 1-2 squares before actually reaching your destination. and that took a long time.

EdenMaster
Patience is a virtue you must not possess. Is it that agonizing to sail for two or three minutes across a square or two? You can even find treasure not shown on maps that way.

big guy
it's two or three minutes of just sitting there watching the solid blue expanse go by. and the treasure not found on the maps was at most a purple rupee, but more often than not it was a red or yellow rupee. i still stopped and picked up every single one i found or i'd never have been able to pay tingle for the charts.

Darunia
EM, I agree with Big Guy. The sailing is dull... even if only for a few blocks, the map is so goddam big, it'll take you a little while. I was thinking about how they could've improved upon that...I think they could've made your boat a little bigger, and allowed you to go inside...where you could get rupees, or smasha few pots, or something like that...have a little cabin inside where you could pass time.

EdenMaster
Today I sailed from Windfall Island to the Forsaken Fortress. It took me all of six minutes. Along the way I picked up some treasure, killed an Octo, blew up pirate ships and stole their treasures, and filled in a square of my Sea Chart.

Not at all tedious if you ask me, I just think you prbably enjoy games with action-every-single-second-without-a moment-of-downtime gameplay, and that's okay, but it certainly doesn't detract from the great games that WW is.

OB1
I absolutely loved the sailing parts. So relaxing and adventerous at the same time.

Darunia
Well, I just think that the boat should've been better...something to hang out in.

OB1
What, like a yacht? With a tv and a bathroom or something? Yeah that would be great for Zelda.

EdenMaster
:D

If you had some sort of cabin or whatever it is you wish there was, think that you'd miss treasures, and nothing like having the King of Red Lions being a gigantic ship. Just let it go, Darunia, and accept that fact that you are far too impatient.

Yes, and while sailing is repetive and a complete waste of time, it's not even the worst part of the game. Using the Wind Waker sucks more than the Ocarina ever did. How many times do you have to change the direction of the wind? What about taking control of a sage? It's repetitive and boring.

Majora's Mask is a much better game. Give me Epona over the King of Red Lions anyday of the week.

Darunia
NO, I WILL NOT GIVE IT UP~! The fucking boat would've been better if it had a small cabin inside where you can get hearts and rupees! You coud still stand on deck too!

OB1

Great Rumbler
They could make the cabin of the boat like your house in Animal Crossing!! You could get furniture and carpet and wallpaper and even Snes games!! It'd be the greatest!!

OB1
And then you could get an NES and play the original Zelda! Play Zelda in Zelda!

:erm:

Whatever you say. Everyones entitled to their own opinion, no matter how ridiculous and wrong it may be.

Darunia's a living testament to that.

Darunia
Majora WAS better than Wind Waker! I conservatively estimate, 3.26x better.

EdenMaster
Majoras Mask...I bought it on the day of release way back when. I was expecting a continuation of Ocarina of Time, but instead found they had eviscerated and changed the game from open exploring to something of a time trial. I played for a couple of weeks, trying to get the hang of the game, thinking it would come in time, but soon enough I realized how much Majora's Mask...oh, whats the right word...ah, yes!

It blew.

Wind Waker is, however, just right. Just like a Zelda game should be.

Darunia
Your opinion, Sir, you opinion. I like Wind Waker too; it was an awesome game, but NOT a good contemporary Zelda title. The dungeons were vast and bland, like I've said so many times, and they recycled the same enemies time and time again---every dungeon had a dozen Moblins. Such was not the case in Majora. I loved transforming into the different forms; the world was awesome and strange...the music was fun.

OB1
Darunia = teh stupid.

Wind Waker blew, too! It blew wind!!! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

OB1
Hahaha.

A Black Falcon
Darunia = teh stupid.

So you disliked MM too?

As for myself I have to agree with EdenMaster... as I've said about 350 times here... :)

OB1
I love MM, just not as much as WW, OoT, and ALttP.

Which is exactly why people allow you to go around mistakenly thinking that WW was less repetetive than MM.

A Black Falcon
Person A: My opinion is always right! I will never conceed anyone else ever has a point!

Person B: No, no, its me who is always right, and you who is wrong! How can you not see that it is I who is the one with never-wrong opinions?

OB1
Haha, it's like you!

A Black Falcon
Nope... :D

I think that sometimes I at least admit that while I dislike someone's opinion on some game or something, I can see that their opinion might be right for them... you don't... and same for Cartoon Devil here, "You should admit you're wrong, because you MUST know I'm really right!"...

You can probably guess who those two people are. .. :)

OB1
Oh please, you can't stand it when someone disagrees with you, and you often proclaim your opinion as objective fact. "WC3 IS the best game ever, no question", "PA IS NOT funny. No question", etc.

Have I ever mentioned how much a hypocrite you are?

Darunia
Look whos talking. You'd never conceed when defeat was staring you in the face. When we had the simplest argument in the world, WHICH HAS MORE ENEMIES, WW OR OOT, and it was obvious that OOT did, you dragged it on and on...."oh, those are families of enemies, they don't count."... "oh, sure it has more, but only a few...."

OB1 = teh stupid.

OB1
You see Darunia, the thing about that argument is that you lost. You started the whole thing by saying that there were only a few enemies in WW that you encountered over and over and that OoT has dozens of more enemies, and both claims were proven false.

So Darunia = teh biggest stupid

Darunia
You see Darunia, the thing about that argument is that you lost.

Not quite...as I recall, Moiraine, maybe EM and ABF sided with me and we collectively forced you to abdicate.

You started the whole thing by saying that there were only a few enemies in WW that you encountered over and over and that OoT has dozens of more enemies, and both claims were proven false.

WW DOES recycle the same enemies, but you're mixing my words up on purpose. Tell me there's not a moblin in every single fucking dungeon. How dumb is that. I never said dozens more...I stressed that it had more, and I was damn well right.

So suck my ass.

A Black Falcon
There are bats in every dungeon of OoT. So? Why is having many of the same enemy type so horrible? Sure I liked the variety in OoT, but the greater number of enemies in a MM or (even more so in) WW is nice...

Comics? As I said in that thread it really goes down to what you find funniest... which for you is clearly quite different from me...

Oh, and I never said I didn't argue my position. I just don't say anywhere NEAR as often as you do "your opinion is completely wrong and mine is completely right for everyone"...

OB1
It wouldn't matter if you had the entire country to back you up (like the Germans with Hitler), Darunia. When you're wrong you're wrong.

And of course there's a moblin in every single dungeon. Did you expect for there to be completely new enemies for each new area? They didn't do that in any of the previous Zelda games. It's just that since there is so many more enemy encounters in WW than in Oot and MM you fight all of the enemies more frequently. Would you rather have it like OoT where there are about five real sword-on-sword fights in the entire game?

OB1
Oh, and I never said I didn't argue my position. I just don't say anywhere NEAR as often as you do "your opinion is completely wrong and mine is completely right for everyone"...

You're losing it, ABF. You argue much more often than I do. You spend hours a day debating Weltall alone, and your arguments are always the same. "I'm right, you're stupid!".

A Black Falcon
Which is why I tried to say in this thread that I do that with GAMES -- not real-world issue debates. :)

Darunia
ABF, don't fucking bother. See no stupidity, hear no stupidity, lose no arguments. He'll never concede, he's too fucking proud and arrogant. He's done it again right here just now...the very same argument that WW has fewer types of enemy than OOT, and he's twisted it to be favorable for him. Whatever OB1.

OB1
Ah, the great, classic argument of "you fucking suck and you won't admit it". You know that someone has lost an argument when they resort to that.

Darunia
Ah, the great psychology of "i'm better than you because I pretend to understand your every move." You know someone's just trying to infuriate someone else when they do that.

Great Rumbler
There's also the classic "Everyone needs to calm the hell down before I slap the living smack out of you!".

:)

Dark Jaguar
I think I'm on GR's side lately. SHUT UP!

OB1

Hahaha, what on earth are you talking about?

Darunia
I use it too OB1. Using a smug control over your victim, pretending to know everything he does, pretending nothing surprises you...installing a fake sense of inferiority in the victim. Christians do it too, to impose people to "believe or burn."

OB1
Yeah that whole "become a Christian or burn in hell for all eternity" thing is absurd, but how does that apply to this topic?

A Black Falcon
Does "I am the only person who could ever possibly be right" ring a bell?

OB1
:erm:

A Black Falcon
Accepting the truth is the first step to recovery... :D

OB1
I think you replied to the wrong topic.

A Black Falcon
No, I don't think so.

OB1
Do you have any idea how old this is? Especially coming from you, since you're the exact same.

A Black Falcon
I think we've been over this already...

OB1
Too many times!!

A Black Falcon
And you've never budged an inch in not accepting other opinions so I'd never expect it now.

OB1
Oh good Lord... you are so damn stubborn. The most stubborn and hypocritical person here!

A Black Falcon
Stubborn? Sure, won't deny that... :)

Dark Jaguar
WOuld you two SHUT UP? Seriously, you two are frickin' mirror images of each other and it's getting annoying! Can't you see I'm TRYING to create ART here?

A Black Falcon
You're just scared of arguing or something.

OB1
Yes, he is. He always leaves arguments.

Dark Jaguar
It's good to see you two finally agreeing on something. Keep it up!

OB1
We agree on plenty of things. But agreeing on stuff doesn't lead to pages worth of arguments.

A Black Falcon
Exactly! What should we do, spend 10 pages saying how great something we agree on is? That would be stupid...

And DJ, you can dislike arguing all you want (and you very clearly do), but saying that its BAD to defend your positions? :erm:

Oh, and OB1... I don't change my mind much at all, sure. But one thing seems to be true -- I don't argue in the same "you are wrong on everything forever" thing like you... since you get lots of people mad at you about your arguing style ("I am NEVER wrong, and you are!") and I don't seem to. That DOES say something.

OB1
Only in your mind, my very young apprentice.

A Black Falcon
I hate him! He's holding me back!

... from winning arguments on this board ...

OB1
But Dark Jaguar said I should be mindful of the future.

Darunia
Wow, I wonder who is more of OB1's nemesis...me or ABF.

OB1
neither

A Black Falcon
Sorry... couldn't come up with a relevant quote... :(

OB1
wha?

A Black Falcon
But Dark Jaguar said I should be mindful of the future.

to reply. :hammer:

OB1
Oh right.

Darunia
...But not at the cost of the present, young padawan.
